Toshiba and Twist Networks Certify Nationwide Interoperability of Strata CIX VoIP Systems and SIP Trunking
IRVINE, Calif., and ST. LOUIS, February 3, 2009 — Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (Toshiba — www.telecom.toshiba.com) and Twist Networks Inc. (www.twist-networks.com), a provider of SIP communications solutions for the small and medium business community, today announced that Twist’s services have been certified with Toshiba’s family of Strata® CIX™ IP business communication systems and are now available from Authorized Toshiba Dealers. Twist provides SIP Trunking services throughout the United States. “Twist brings Toshiba’s Strata CIX IP business communication system users a cost-effective, reliable new choice for SIP Trunking services,” said Shahin Hatamian, vice president, Product Management, for Toshiba Information Systems, Telecommunication Systems Division. “We are pleased to offer Twist Networks SIP Trunking services to Toshiba customers via our network of Authorized Toshiba Dealers.” “Twist Networks enables Toshiba Strata CIX IP users to optimize their systems by providing IP trunking services that are terminated locally with a direct handoff to the individual Toshiba Strata CIX system,” said Bob Hymes, Twist Network’s President. “Since Twist can deliver direct circuits over its QOS-enabled network or allow the customers to leverage their own existing IP networks, the customers have the flexibility to choose how to generate maximum savings on their long distance and network infrastructures. In fact, the Twist solution allows customers the option to completely eliminate long distance costs for calls made within the United States and Canada.” Using Twist Networks IP trunks, both small and large users benefit. For example, small enterprise users of Toshiba’s Strata CIX40 IP business communication system get the benefits of Direct Inward Dialing (DID) without the expense of having a PRI or having to upgrade to a larger system. Together, Toshiba’s Strata CIX40 IP business communication system and Twist allow companies with even as few as four trunks to enjoy DID numbers. Hymes said, “The combination of Twist’s IP trunking just makes an already great system even better.” Twist’s services come with packages that include 1,000 minutes up to unlimited long distance and are specifically designed for the needs of companies with 5 to 500 employees. The services feature the reliability and quality of traditional voice, bundled with the flexibility and survivability of IP-based trunking. Twist’s services are delivered through a single connection with domestic local and long distance as well as international calls to Canada included in the base rate, giving customers tremendous savings on their monthly telecommunications expenses. Twist’s trunks easily connect to the Toshiba Strata CIX IP business communication system through least cost routing so that the transition to the new service is virtually invisible to users and allows customers to start saving immediately, even if they want to maintain some or all of their current phone connections during the transition. “With Twist Networks, Toshiba enterprise users get local, long distance and direct dial access in one simple, reliable package,” said Eric Abing, product manager, Toshiba America Information Systems, Telecommunication Systems Division. “This allows our customers to maximize the reach of their Toshiba Strata CIX system while continuing to take advantage of the system’s flexibility, application-rich functionality, and unbeatable reliability.” To find an Authorized Toshiba Dealer in your area, visit the Toshiba website at www.telecom.toshiba.com.
