Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) named Toshiba’s Strata® CIX™1200 IP business communication system a 2008 TMC Labs Innovation Award winner, presented by INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine. “We are very proud to receive the Internet Telephony 2008 TMC Labs Innovation Award for our Strata CIX1200,” said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager. “Strata CIX1200 gives medium- to large-enterprise users Toshiba’s legendary quality and reliability in an affordable VoIP system that can be networked for as many as 128 sites. May 14, 2008 - Toshiba Enhances SoftIPT Softphone, Now Enabling More Simultaneous Calls and Echo Cancellation for Windows Vista
Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division today announced the availability of its newly enhanced Toshiba SoftIPT® softphone (Version 2.2), which enables users to access their desktop telephone features via their laptop computers by connecting to the enterprise’s Toshiba Strata® CIX™ IP business communications system through 802.11 wireless networks or virtually anywhere there is Internet access. The new SoftIPT 2.2 now supports the G729a codec for PCs only, which allows for more simultaneous calls and also supports acoustic echo cancellation on Microsoft® Windows Vista® on an Intel-based platform. The new acoustic echo canceller allows users to use their PCs’ built-in microphones.
